| Marcello Comezzi is a well known watchmaker in Rome, Italy. On demand, he modified a Rolex DateJust Ref. 16200, adding
the moon phases. The caliber 3135 was modified by adding a plate on the dial side, milled with a numeric control machine to a
thickness of 0.5 mm. To this are added the necessary spaces to house the moon phases, levers, springs and gears. The phase disk
is enameled and diamond pavé. Even the case band was modified to accommodate the corrector for adjusting the moon phases.
The case is still water-resistant to 10 atmospheres.
The present lot was illustrated in OM-Market, 2010, p. 14-15. |
