Truman". D. champagne with applied gold indexes +
auxiliary dials for the seconds, the 12 hours and 30
minutes registers, outer tachometer graduation,
graduation for the days of the month, apertures for the
days of the week, the months and the lunations. "
Bâton" gold hands. M. 15- gilt brass, 17 jewels, lever
escapement, monometallic balance, selfcompensating
Breguet balance-spring.
Dial, case and movement signed.

| Biography
Harry S. Truman, American Politician (1884-1972).
Democrat Senator in 1935, Vice-President of F.D.
Roosvelt, he became President of the United States in
1945 until 1953. He ended WW II by using the atomic
bomb against Japan in 1945. He signed the peace
treaty with Japan in 1951. He also implemented the
Marshall Plan for the building of Western Europe.
Potsdam: German city south-west of Berlin.
The Conference of Potsdam took place in July-August
1945 between Truman, Staline and Churchill (then
Attlee). At this conference, the political and economic
principles governing the control of Germany alter its
capitulation were determined. |
