Serpentine with flat back and two brackets for mounting, silver gilt edge, makers mark EM, containing five cut glass bottles with silver-gilt lids, bevelled mirror with silver gilt frame, the front set with a watch. D. White enamel with Arabic numerals, outer minute track. Black spade hands. M. Frosted gilt, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Back of mirror stamped Klein. Dim. 23.5 x 14.5 x 8.5 cm.

Very fine and rare, musical, gilt-bronze, bronze and inlaid rosewood, 8-day going, hour and half-hour striking table clock with rocking ship automaton and playing six tunes in sequence at will. Accompanied by a glass shade.
C. Gilt-bronze in the form of a rocky outcrop above a harbour surmounted and flanked by fortifications and buildings, bronze palm tree and two cannons to the side, the harbor walls above rocky outcrop, fabric "sea" where the ship rides the waves driven by a separate movement to the music, polished rosewood base containing the musical movement inlaid with mythical sea monsters and buildings, pull-levers to start the automaton and the music. The Singing Blackbird Attributed to Blaise Bontems, Paris, circa 1860. Extremely rare and spectacular singing automaton blackbird turning its head, flapping its wings, and opening its beak as it sings.
C. Superbly made and feathered to resemble a real blackbird, body formed of a brass shell, blackened brass legs, glass eyes and real beak. M. Shaped, brass, going barrel, cams controlling the song and the bird's movements, rectangular bellows mounted in the tail, piston below. Dim. Length 16 cm, height 12.5 cm.
